I started in the stone industry as a machine installer in 2006 working with hundreds of stone shops around North America. After nearly a decade I decided it was time to stop traveling and start spending more time with family.
I took a job with a prominent stone shop in my area to help them move into the Digital Age. I worked for them for 6 years and that allowed me to further expand my knowledge of the industry.
I maintained my connections with the various shops I worked in, occasionally moving or maintaining their equipment. This is how I met Rob Malz.
After much discussion with Jen, my wife, and my sons, Liam and Loic we made the decision to purchase Shaker Hill Granite from Rob and Lauri Malz upon their retirement.
Our commitment to a family atmosphere in the workplace is the key to our success. As a business owner I feel very lucky to have the staff that is at Shaker Hill Granite, who take such pride in their work. Some of our employees have been with the company 15+ years!
