Cabinetry Design Fee Information
Why does Shaker Hill have a design fee?
As is common within the industry, a design fee is incurred as the next step after an initial discussion of your project. This gives you, the client, a working design specifically to fit your needs. It provides Shaker Hill with the ability to cover our time in the event you choose not to go forward with us. The design goes with you.
Does it get applied to my purchase?
Absolutely! You will be credited the full amount of the design fee toward your purchase of cabinetry from Shaker Hill.
What if I change my mind after I give you the design fee?
Once we have started work designing your cabinetry, it becomes non-refundable.
How much is the design fee?
The amount is $500 or 1.5% of the estimated cost of the project, whichever is greater. After the initial consultation, your designer will provide you with an estimate of your project and correlating design fee.
Are there additional design fees, for example, when a plan gets revised?
No, your design fee covers the initial design and one revision.
Then what happens?
To secure your space in our supplier’s production schedules, we require a 50% deposit.
If you decide that we are not the right fit for you, we understand. You keep the design, and we wish you the very best with your project!
